We would love to share true impact stories as we commemorate five years of positive psychosocial impacts
Tayo and Tope during our 1st-anniversary commemoration and leadership training at Idanre Hill in Ondo state, Nigeria. They attended when they were in a state of trying to figure out what life truly holds for them amid their struggles with varying social vices and other socio-economic crises.
The Connecting The Dots Foundation (CTDF) conducted a follow-up after the program to better understand their story and how we can support them better to actualize their goals for lives.
We provided a treatment plan to enable them to overcome these vices, and some other pro Bono services including over regular mentorship support on the CTDF Community platform for young adults in line with our focus which are: Mentorship, Innovations, Leadership and Entrepreneurship (MILE) support from the organization.
In their direct words; “Once you join the CTDF family, it is easier for you to discover your goals and ultimately have an accountability system to support through”.
Today, one is a budding model for big brands in the Photography sector in Nigeria and the other an established graphics designer and leads a group of youths also in his local community.
These are a huge inspiration to other young people in their community and Nigeria at large.
Just likewise; Remi was also present at the leadership fun tour in 2019, He realized he was indeed made to be a leader, and upon assessment of his strengths, he volunteered to be the CTDF Community President in 2020, managing over 500 young adults on the platform.
This leadership experience was significant to build his people’s skills and competency. Leveraging on this, he decided to run for the position of the Student Union Government (SUG) President in his institution, leading over 12, 000 students.
As we commemorate this milestone; I believe you know youngsters like Tayo, Tope and Remi are in their formative years as teenagers/young adults, whose life can be transformed for the better through a support system that is intentional about ensuring they maximize their potential
